Based on the contemporary American classic novel of the same name, this heartwarming new coming-of-age musical opens the first season in GSP’s new home. Living in 1940s Brooklyn, Bar Mitzvah boy Joey Margolis and his best friend begin writing letters to the star third baseman of the New York Giants. When they’re surprised by a response, an unlikely and long-lasting bond is forged, one that unites them, even amid the tumultuous events of World War II.If you love plays with Jewish themes, musicals, coming-of-age stories and baseball, we think you’ll love this play.
We plan to go to dinner after the show, place to be determined.
