WHAT AN AMAZING MITZVAH DAY!!!
Our volunteers, team leaders and Temple members are the best. We began the day with a Men’s Club sponsored Minyan led by Rabbi Vaisberg at 8:30 AM, followed by the Men’s Club, led by Peter Rosenbaum and Andrew Halper,  taking on a very successful toiletries collection and sorting that will be going to the Franciscan Ministries.

Our Sisterhood took on two popular events such as the Community Challah Bake, led by Tara Heyderman and Deborah Jacob, where the recipients of half the breads were going to CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) for distribution to those in need. CHOW is also receiving the Lunches of Love, led by Donna Ellenbogen, (the kids decorated the bags with messages and images of hope) and were stuffed with a sandwich, granola bar, fresh fruit and chocolate. Some of the challahs were delivered to the Isaiah House in East Orange.

Msterio Doll ProjectOur volunteers decorated dolls for the MSTERIO project, led by Caryn Epstein, where kids from around the world will cherish them. Our Children’s Book drive yielded so many books that we are sharing them with the IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network in Montclair) and with NESF (Newark Emergency Services for Families). NESF will additionally receive some adult diapers and our Annual Turkey Drive with All of the Trimmings is always successful.

HEARTS OF HOPE

Our co-chair for the Social Action Committee, Ruth Ross, outdid herself this year by spearheading the Diaper Drive where the products will be transported to Moms Helping Moms of NJ, and the Period Project will receive feminine hygiene products. Our Animal shelter toys will go to local no kill animal shelters. #HeartsOfHope helped us to paint messages of love, caring, healing and other positive thoughts on their ceramic hearts. After we fire them, our volunteers will deliver them to local nursing homes as well as Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

Much thanks to our many leaders and volunteers who went above and beyond with their participation and enthusiasm.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. YOU ALL ROCK. 💕💕💕

MSTERIO PROJECT
Children decorate dolls that travel to other children around the world. At each destination, the receiving children are encouraged to play with the dolls and enjoy them for a short time before the dolls travel on to their next destination.
