Makom

Makom is our TBA teen group. We have formal and informal programming for teens grades 8th-12th. The group's goal is to continue the synagogue education and involvement of our young people beyond the age of b'nai mitzvah.

Fall

Two sessions each month, as it is now, with the first session being two separate classes: 8/9 and 10 split, again, same as current structure. The second session, which we have previously called "social," will now be called "mitzvah." On a Mitzvah evening, the teens will do some sort of service project to benefit a local group or organization. This will be teen run - at the beginning of the year, teens will take on these mitzvah nights as a small group, and our staff will support them in their project ideas and help them implement their idea on one of the mitzvah nights - leading the other students in the project. 

Spring

Same structure but instead of a split 8/9 and 10th class, the teens will choose an elective, which will be mixed 8-10th. We anticipate being able to offer four electives in the spring. Mitzvah nights will continue throughout the spring. 

Trip

For 8-10th grade. Will share info as soon as it is set!
