As part of their study of World religions, the Freshman class of Saint Vincent’s Academy in Newark was privileged to visit Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston and meet Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz. Rabbi Dantowitz spoke about her academic and spiritual journey to become a rabbi and what it means to be a member of the Jewish faith. She also explained the different parts of the synagogue. A highlight of the experience was being able to see the Torah and learn about reading the lessons of the Torah in Hebrew.
Rabbi Dantowitz’s message of acceptance of every person and each person’s responsibility to put her faith into action to create a better world was challenging as well as inspirational. It was an enriching and life-changing experience for all who were blessed to attend.
