Jewish Heritage in the Iberian Peninsula

Trip Led by Rabbi Clifford & Robin Kulwin

Join Robin and me next Spring, April 1-10, 2018, to explore some of the most fascinating sites in Jewish history!  Jewish life flourished under both the Moors and the Catholic church until the Inquisition in 1492, when Jews left or went underground.  Jews returned only a century ago, and modern Jewish life is fascinating.  We’ll meet and spend time with current community leaders, and join a Barcelona congregation for Shabbat services and dinner.

My doctoral work focused on medieval Iberian Jewry and I visited Spain frequently during my pre-TBA days, working with local communities, so I’m especially excited about this trip.  Yafa of ITC will be happy to put together any pre or post add-on you would like.  I can certainly share thoughts about travel possibilities in the region, or perhaps you’d like to head to Lisbon with Robin and me for a couple of days after Spain?  Read the brochure then let Yafa and me know you are interested!
